With the development of its new fascinating Mechanical Town series, Ugears presents another addition to its collection: the Rail Manipulator. The manipulator, which is located in the dock of Mechanical Town, not far from the robot factory, is a purely nützliches model, which makes it by no means less entertaining than the other models of the series. Like the rest of the Ugears models, the manipulator is designed to keep the fun going after assembly. With a number of extras included in the box, the model guarantees hours of exciting new pastimes. Speaking of extras, with the manipulator itself you also get two track sections, the shed under construction, two transport boxes with doors, crane, trolley and five figures.
Design & Development The manipulator is a mechanical claw with three levers that sits on a platform on the rails. The rails can be connected in parallel or in a line. The settings are completed by a pseudo-metal shed in a huge half-timbered building, straight from the Industrial Age, with one of the characters, a roofer with a hammer, sitting on a beam of the shed. The worker's signal flags assist the manipulator operator in controlling the process, while the worker with a shovel and the worker with a wrench are busy in the docks doing their own thing. The model also includes one of the most important devices of the docks, the crane. It can be dismantled and reassembled, almost with one hand movement. With the additional mechanisms the rotation and the angle of the crane can be secured even under load.
And an important addition to the adjustment is the goods wagon with side panel. Loading and unloading your freight crates together with the dismantled crane is very easy and you can take them to a new destination. All parts of the set are made of high quality plywood and do not require any additional materials or tools for assembly.
How does it work?
>The claw itself sits on a platform that can rotate manually or through a valve. The ferry stand, equipped with a protective cover and adjustable headlight, is located in the front part of the model.
The counterclockwise rotation of the cabin switches the modes of the manipulator:
- Start position (driving mode) - the rotating platform of the claw is locked, the model moves along the rail
- 90 degree rotation (free mode) - the rotating platform is unlocked
- 180-degree rotation (loading mode) - the models are locked together with the transmission in the front axle connected to the rail on the rails. The rear of the model carries the lever that controls the lifting, lowering and holding of four feet, which provide additional stability when operating the claw.
With its articulated claw, the Ugears Manipulator can load and move the freight crates in the wagon with an exceptional - up to 1 cm - accuracy. On the basis of the original prototypes, the manipulator will teach you the operational and design features of the real machines such as cranes, excavators, robot arms, etc., their mechanics and functionality.
All in all, the manipulator has a large capacity both as an assembly model, which can be assembled in an exciting way, and as a large playtime companion due to its many functions. Not to forget the pädagogische value of the large mechanics, which is based on the real Designs. And if you have the feeling that you want to have even more fun with the model, you can always connect your manipulator to the other Ugears models in your collection via the couplers.
