If you are looking for a reliable epoxy resin, R&G products are the right choice. The resin described here has a working time of 40 minutes and is completely cured after only 24 hours and is therefore resilient.
It can be bonded to a wide variety of materials such as wood, metal and polystyrene, and you can also soak glass, armid and carbon fibres quickly. In order for the resin to be used with different materials, it must have a low surface tension, good adhesion and, of course, a low loss of hardness - all this applies to the epoxy resin. It can be processed in all common processes such as hand lamination, pressure and vacuum impregnation as well as pressing and winding.
The composition is not only free from nonylphenol, but also from solvents and fillers. By the revision of the formula this could be improved, so it is for example also not cytotoxic, which is important for applications in the medical technology.
With the hardeners S (15 minutes), L (40 minutes), EPH 500 (60 minutes), EPH 161 (90 minutes) and W 300 (300 minutes), it has strengths similar to those of the laminating systems commonly used in aviation. The heat distortion temperature ranges from 60 °C (S, L, EPH 500) to approx. 120 °C (EPH 161, after hot curing).
Epoxy resin L + hardener L
- Processing time: 40 minutes
- Mixing ratio:
- 100 : 40 parts by weight resin : hardener
- Curing time: 24 hours
- Cold hardening
General description of the system Epoxy resin L with hardeners S, L, EPH 500, EPH 161 and W 300:
- Low-viscosity, solvent- and filler-free
- Fast impregnation of glass, aramid and carbon fibres
- High static and dynamic strength
- The epoxy resin L with the corresponding hardeners S, L, EPH 500 and EPH 161 is the most widely used laminating and adhesive resin from the R&G product range.
