Introducing the STRIKE DLG, the model that will fulfill your dream of owning a compact aircraft that you can fly practically anywhere, much like our CUMUL DLG. Compared to its counterpart, the STRIKE DLG is larger and features controllable ailerons, yet with a little effort, it can still meet the 250g weight limit. Additionally, flying this RC-DLG will keep you in top shape – mastering a discus launch is a remarkable athletic achievement.
An RC-DLG is a fantastic option for those who enjoy building models themselves, using classic materials like balsa wood, plywood, strips, and a touch of carbon fiber. Constructing it is straightforward and progresses quickly. While the STRIKE DLG may not be the ideal choice for beginners without prior knowledge, those who have some experience with balsa wood and strips should have no trouble assembling it. Once your STRIKE DLG is ready for flight, mastering the discus launch should be a breeze – we've included a detailed, illustrated appendix in the instruction manual to guide you through the process.
Designed and produced in the Czech Republic.
This kit for a high-performance RC-DLG with an extremely lightweight all-balsa construction is a perfect project for model builders aiming to create a top-notch model for hobby flying. The thoughtful design featuring CNC-cut interlocking parts that fit together like pieces of a puzzle makes assembly a breeze. Ribs come with building tabs that allow you to construct the wing (with a hollow profile) directly on a flat work surface.
The front part of the fuselage is a simple box construction. Top and bottom covers, as well as formers and braces, are made of plywood. The servo and battery compartment is located in the front section under a removable hatch with a magnetic closure. The tail boom is a carbon tube with a lightweight pylon for the horizontal stabilizer. The high-start hook for bungee launching is also included in the kit.
The one-piece wing with the YA0801 profile (modified to meet the requirements of RC-DLG) features a classic design with CNC-cut balsa ribs, a carbon main spar, and a beechwood leading edge for high strength at very low weight. A pair of wing-mounted servos controls the ailerons across the entire span. The wing is attached to the fuselage with a plastic screw. The DLG peg can be mounted on the left wingtip (for right-handers) or the right wingtip (for left-handers).
The tail assembly consists of CNC-cut balsa boards and carbon reinforcements. The elevator and rudder are controlled by servos located in the fuselage, with steel wire pushrods running through the tail boom.
For covering, lightweight covering film such as Oralight® or similar can be used.
A minimum 4-channel RC system is required to control your STRIKE DLG model. The advantage lies in using a computer transmitter that allows independent adjustment of the aileron servos (differential, brakes) and programming of mixers to facilitate the discus launch. For ailerons, rudder, and elevator, good 6g Pico servos with a torque of 0.7-0.9 kg.cm are suitable – the kit includes servo mounts tailored for KAVAN GO-6MG servos.
Ideal power supply for onboard electronics is a 500-600 mAh LiPo battery.
The kit includes: CNC-milled balsa and plywood parts, carbon rods for wing spars, carbon tail boom, accessory set, decal sheet, full-size plans, instruction manual.
