The optionally usable leading edges can be clicked in without glue and then removed in seconds. As expected, there is also LED lighting, supplemented by additional position and landing lights for better visibility.
The elevator halves snap in when inserted, and the plug-in wing halves with self-aligning servo connectors are secured with innovative wing locking mechanisms, requiring no tools for assembly/disassembly. There is even a specially designed clip in the fuselage to hold the wing tube, so you never forget it when transporting the model! The digital servos with metal gears allow for precise and reliable control of the oversized control surfaces. For additional rudder effect, the flaps, which can deflect in both directions, can also be used as ailerons.
A specially tuned motor is matched to an exclusive 85A Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC, which provides a variety of telemetry data from the propulsion system in real-time with both Smart and non-Smart batteries (including the AR637TA installed in the BNF® Basic version; when combined with transmitters equipped with Spektrum AirWare™). The BNF® Basic version is equipped with an AR637TA receiver that provides comprehensive real-time telemetry data, including total battery voltage, ESC temperature, and more. Additionally, the receiver provides motor thrust reverse for specific ground handling maneuvers and the benefits of AS3X® and the optionally deployable SAFE® Select technology. The Super Timber 1.7m also features a large upper fuselage hatch for faster and easier battery changes using a quick-release battery compartment that allows for multiple positions to accommodate most 4S to 6S batteries from 3200–5000mAh. You even have the option to mount floats (sold separately) to fly from ponds and lakes!
